The Regge

Close to the holiday park in Holten, you'll find the Reggestreek. In this region, the Regge River flows, originating from the Twente Canal. The Regge runs from the Twente Canal through Goor, Rijssen, Enter, and Hellendoorn to Ommen, where it merges into the Vecht. In the past, the Regge was a wild river, but to make navigation with flat-bottomed boats easier, it was tamed into a calmer waterway. Now, the river is gradually returning to its natural course, quickly regaining its former wild state. Thanks to this transformation, the Regge is perfect for water recreation. Rent a canoe or whisper boat to explore the nature from the water, or enjoy a relaxing boat tour through the Reggestreek!

Explore the Regge from the water

The Regge is a beautiful river to explore from the water. Rent a whisper boat, grab a canoe for a sporty trip, or enjoy a boat tour. From the water, you can see birds nesting along the banks. With a bit of luck, you might even spot kingfishers flying by. As you glide along the river, you’ll pass a vineyard, an old Saxon farmhouse, and organic farms—a unique blend of nature and culture.
